BTEC Level 2 & 3 Sport
The Rotherham Community Academy BTEC Level 2 & 3 (in partnership with The Football League Trust and Rotherham College) offers students the opportunity to play for Rotherham United whilst completing your qualifications, This experience can lead straight to university, a career in the Sports Industry or professional Football / Futsal. This course will provide students with transferable skills and qualities that can help them develop a long term career in sport covering a range of units ranging from the Human Body, Fitness, Coaching and Diet Planning. The programme is also open to females with the opportunity to play for the Rotherham United female development squad as well as regular games integrated within the programme. The course duration is full time, 16 hours per week, September – July for two years. Since the start of the programme 75% of students have progressed onto university including our Foundation Degree in Football Coaching and Community Development. The entry requirements for this consists of AT LEAST 4 GCSE’s at Grade A* – C including Maths and English.
Foundation Degree Community Football Coaching and Development
Are you passionate about a career in the football industry? This football coaching course provides an opportunity to gain an industry-recognised coaching award while being affiliated to a specific football club. The Foundation Community Football Coaching and Development degree has been designed in conjunction with the Football League Trust in order to identify the type of skills and qualities that are required to work within professional football clubs community departments or national governing bodies in areas of growth such as social inclusion, community coaching and football development.
