Tuesday 1 August will see the start of our BBC Children In Need delivery.
The project which will initially run for 12 months will engage young people aged 11-18 in Sport and physical activity whilst educating them on topics around health and wellbeing.
Young people will be invited to join us for 10 weeks to cover topics such as healthy eating, exercise and the body, smoking, alcohol and drugs, CSE, sexual health, body image and eating disorders, water safety, bullying and internet safety.
The project which will focus on engaging participants from 4 key areas of the borough Canklow, Eastwood, Ferham and Masborough and will target 400 young people over the 12 month period. 80 of these will be invited to take part in health advocate training and 60 will be invited to volunteer with the Trust to help spread the messages around health and wellbeing to their peers.
August will see delivery start at Ridge Road Mosque, Winterhill Youth Centre and Eastwood Village Community Centre. September will see us expand into Ferham childrens centre, Cranworth Road, Canklow woods school and Myplace.
We will be working with a variety of partners on the delivery of the project including South Yorkshire Police, SYEDA, The Anti Bullying Company, RDASH, and South West Yorkshire NHS partnership.
We will also be celebrating the launch of the project at our Open Day on Tuesday 29 August at New York Stadium.
