We are a small group set up to help promote mental and physical wellbeing through fishing.
Our aims are to encourage people to be out in the fresh air in a relaxing and safe environment.
Many of our members have fished when younger but have not been able to continue due to ill health or economic situations.
Fishing for pleasure has been used as a therapy for some time and there are other groups in the UK offering similar services but as far as we know ours is the only group in the South Yorkshire area.
The initial funding for the group came from a fantastic effort of the NCS fund raisers enabling the purchase of rod licenses and fishing permits.
KDL along with Parkgate Angling Centre are very important sponsors to the group allowing us to buy equipment and arrange trips to other waters.
