Great Millers Youth Forum
The Great Millers Youth Forum is a constituted group made up of young people from across our community projects. The group meet on a regular basis to discuss issues related to young people and to plan, design and deliver their own projects. The group has highlighted the need for additional youth provision in the central belt of Rotherham namely Henley, Masbrough and Ferham, this has resulted in the recruitment of a youth worker position being made available with support from the People’s Health Trust.
Previous projects have included voice and influence workshops including a trip to the Houses of Parliament, evening sport sessions and the creation of a pop up youth club at New York Stadium. The Youth Forum is always looking at ways of expanding its membership
As part of the appointment of the new youth worker, the Great Millers forum have managed to initiate three youth club sessions a week, on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The youth clubs offer young people from any race, culture or background to come and have a safe and relaxing time through activities ranging from; playing Xbox, pool or table-top football, to arts and crafts.
