On the 24th of September 2015 Dean Burgin, Tony Lacey and Richard Stanley took part in the screwball rally in a Honda Prelude along with another 106 Vehicles. The challenge was to take a vehicle that cost no more than £700 and travel 2000+ miles through 8 countries around Europe in 4 days for charity.
The car they used was a 21 year old Honda Prelude ‘The Lude’ costing a total of £370, which wouldn’t have been roadworthy without the help of sponsors who kindly donated either their services or funds.
Dean, Tony and Richard have raised close to £4000.00 for Help the Heroes through this event, meaning the total they have raised so far including previous charity fundraising events with all The New County customers is approaching the £8000.00 mark.
Jamie Noble, Head of Community said “were happy to support this amazing fundraising cause for such a great charity, they carried the RUFC crest on their car and we would like people to give to the auction. Lots of RUFC fans raise money for well worth causes and as a community club we want to support our fans in their efforts”
The County has a fun day planned on Thursday 22nd of October 2015 with a comedian and 4 singers. Raffle and auction to raise even more and another one at The Effingham Arms at Kimberworth on November 7th.
If you would like to contribute to this fantastic cause, you can donate via the New County pub in the collection boxes or online here
Or alternatively, if you want to donate services to help ready the vehicles for next year, please Contact Dean Burgin on 07592196504 or email deanburgin2016@gmail.com

INCLUSION | We are wearing our shirt backwards to support Mind’s #HaveYourMatesBack campaign for better mental health in football, in partnership with the EFL. With 1 in 4 experiencing mental health problems we all know someone who needs support. Drop them a line, ask if they are ok, let them know you are there for them. It can make a difference.
