Joy of Moving Progamme
We are proud to be working in partnership with Joy of Moving Programme, which is a key component of the Ferrero CSR programme, and over 30 primary schools across Rotherham to deliver FREE Sport and Health sessions to year 5 + 6 pupils. The project aims to ‘increase movement among children across the world’ whilst delivering key health messages to pupils in preparation for their transition to secondary school in order to equip them and provide them with a wealth of knowledge around:
Throughout the programme students will look more closely at topics such as; the skeleton, organs, pulse rate, benefits of exercise on health, the eatwell guide and many more… whilst having the opportunity to have an active involvement in physical activity and exercise sessions incorporating handball, football and dodgeball.
The program itself dedicates 90 minutes per week per year group over a 6 week period and would typically look like the following as an example:
Year 5 pupils – 1.15-2pm (45 minutes) Classroom based learning, 2-2.45pm (45 minutes) Exercise/Physical Activity.
Year 6 pupils – 1.15-2pm (45 minutes) Exercise/Physical Activity, 2-2.45pm (45 minutes) Classroom based learning.
