Team Assistant

We are recruiting NCS Team Assistants to assist the team leader in leading teams of fifteen young people through our summer NCS programme. The applicant should be a passionate individual with experience in working with groups of young people.

We are very proud of our strong reputation and have high expectations of all our staff and firmly believe that great Team Assistants are absolutely essential for the successful delivery of the NCS programme.

Team Assistants lead, inspire and develop their team of participants with the Team Leader through the NCS programme, two weeks of which, will involve staying and working residentially.

Week 1: Monday to Friday: Away Residential – Activity Week
Week 2: Monday to Friday: Home Residential – Skills Building
Week 3-4: Social Action Project – Based in Rotherham (Non-Residential)
Graduation Night: TBC
Training Weekend: TBC

NCS Team Assistant duties:

  • Be responsible for up to 15 young people in your team
  • Be an NCS ambassador, positive role model and an inspiration for your team to help them succeed throughout their NCS experience
  • Assist in the delivery of activities and ensure the safety of all participants throughout their 4 week experience
  • Act as a liaison for the young people and their parents/carers whilst resolving minor issues on a daily basis
  • Report any concerns, incidents or accidents to the Team Leader as soon as possible
  • Administer basic First Aid if required, in line with First Aid training
  • Ensure you adhere to the NCS Code of Conduct as well as ensuring the young people also adhere to it. If a young person disregards the Code of Conduct then you must act appropriately in line with the procedures covered in training.
