U4C successful in first stage of groundwork bid

United 4 Communities Football Club have been successful with the first stage of their bid to Groundworks (Tesco bags of help). U4C are up against 2 other organisations who all have a chance to receive either £5000, £2000 or £1000.

This funding will help to sustain and deliver more sports sessions to young people in the most deprived areas of Rotherham.

United 4 Communities FC was launched in 2012 to enable young people from across Rotherham to experience competitive grassroots football.

The club aims to target players from a range of backgrounds who feel they are unable to participate in traditional clubs due to range of social and cultural barriers. The club currently offers teams at u16 and adult level and provides an ideal exit route for players from across our evening diversionary youth projects. We are proud to manage such a diverse club with the teams currently having players from 7 different nationalities and 6 different spoken languages.
