Rotherham United Sports College would like to congratulate all 2021/22 Degree students who have completed their courses this year.
|Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching and Development (Year 1)||Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching and Development (Year 2)||BSc (Hons) Football Coaching, Development and Administration|
The degree students have worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months and have achieved some outstanding results. For context, the lowest grade achieved by a 1st year student is 52%, with some students achieving over 90% on their assignments and projects. Alongside their academic studies almost all degree students are now employed by the Trust in some capacity working across all our departments (Education, Participation, Health, Inclusion and NCS).
Chris Emsley (Lecturer in Sports Development and Coaching at the University of South Wales) has recently complimented the support that Assistant Education Manager, Kirsty Maxey has provided the students: ‘The students have their own dedicated classroom; their placement opportunities are outstanding and Kirsty sets and maintains high standards. All of this is outstanding practice and should be highlighted. Having 17 students on a degree that are all performing extremely well is not a fluke as everyone is a product of their environment.’
We want to particularly wish our 3rd year students the best of luck as they graduate and progress into employment either externally or with us at Rotherham United. George, Callum, Reece and Jamie have all been students at Rotherham United for a minimum of 5 years, progressing from our BTEC courses into Higher Education. All four students are fantastic role-models to some of our younger students and have provided invaluable support to the Trust, initially as volunteers and then as paid members of staff alongside their studies.
