Care Homes Olympics

Activities for care homes and sheltered housing residents

‘The mission of the International Olympic Committee is to not only ensure the celebration of the Olympic Games, but to also encourage the regular practice of sport by all people in society, regardless of sex, age, social background or economic status’

Can you think of a better way to support the international Olympic committees mission statement than to get Rotherham’s Care Home Residents competing in their very own Olympics?

There’s something magical about these events that leaves us smiling for days.

Our team host 4 Olympics per year at New York Stadium.

Each quarter 4 care homes are invited to battle it out and take home the famous winners trophy. Our staff visit each home for 10 weeks, training residents in boccia, skittles, target throw quiz and dominoes. Homes are also provided with materials to get crafty and make a supporters flag for the big day.

Each home then selects 10 residents to attend the Olympic event at New York Stadium which consists of 4 competition rounds, lunch, a tea dance and awards ceremony. You might even get to meet a first team player.

If you would like your home to get involved drop us a message using the form below;
