1:1 support service for adults
‘There is no greater power and support you can give someone than to look them in the eye and say – I believe in you’
Sometimes as much as we want to get out and socialise, exercise, or take part in activities, it can be really difficult to take that first step. Our social prescribing project means our team members can provide 1:1 support to adults living with a mental health issue to help them take those first steps.
Your GP or mental health nurse can refer you into our service by sending off a social prescribing referral form to Voluntary Action Rotherham.
Once your details land with us we will give you a call and arrange to meet for a coffee and a chat. This can be in your home, at a local cafe, a community centre, anywhere that feels manageable for you.
We will discuss what you would like to do, any barriers that may be stopping you and set a plan of small steps to get you where you want to be.
Each individual can access 9 hours of 1:1 support where we will build confidence and routine enabling you to eventually access groups and activities under your own steam.
