Our inclusion team are all about giving young people amazing opportunities and bringing together young people from other backgrounds by treating them to the common love that is, football uniting everybody together as one.

Our participants now prepare for our next challenge in Manchester on August 17th, against the likes of Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, Crewe Alexandre and Aston Villa.

Early this month we took our Maltby Premier League Kicks participants to Nottingham Sports Complex to take part in the PL Kicks Cup. Rewarding these boys who regularly attend our sessions for their commitment and attitude, we believe they deserve to represent Rotherham and to show what we’re made of. The team we’re up against many teams from Fulham, Leicester, Bolton, Wolves, and Luton.

Premier League Kicks is a community programme with a vision to empower young people. They also help to unlock sporting potential and improve their health and wellbeing to create stronger, safer and more united communities.

As well as other professional clubs, Rotherham United, together with South Yorkshire Police and various youth workers and care professionals, use the power of sport and the value of physical activity to engage young people within deprived areas of the community.

Our mission is to continuously give support to young people aged 8-18 of all backgrounds and abilities by offering a wide range of free sporting activities.

Youth & Inclusion Coordinator, Sam Parkin Said:

“These boys deserve this opportunity to represent Rotherham United. Its something the inclusion department and we as a Trust aim to provide for so many people in the community and we wont be stopping any time soon”

We have an average attendance of over 80 children join at Maltby but we have PL Kicks sessions all across Rotherham in places like Kiveton. Eastwood, Wath, and Greasbrough and we’re always looking for new participants. Sessions have finished for the summer but we are back in September.
