Rotherham United Community Sports Trust are delighted to work alongside the Premier League Kicks Foundation to make a positive and inspiring impact within our community.
Premier League Kicks is a community programme with a vision to empower young people. They also help to unlock sporting potential and improve their health and wellbeing to create stronger, safer and more united communities.
As well as other professional clubs, Rotherham United, together with South Yorkshire Police and various youth workers and care professionals, use the power of sport and the value of physical activity to engage young people within deprived areas of the community.
Our mission is to continuously give support to young people aged 8-18 of all backgrounds and abilities by offering a wide range of free sporting activities as well as coaching, musical, educational and personal development sessions to reduce the risk of anti-social behaviour within the areas the sessions are delivered.
By doing this, we aim to:
> Consistently offer a wide range of sporting activities, coaching and educational opportunities for young people (8-18)
> Strengthen Communities and create a culture of positive role models.
> Work with local youth professionals and police to educate and protect the younger generation against the challenges they face within society and improve safety within the community.
> Inspire and encourage young people to champion equality and diversity and build positive relationships with one another, other professionals and authorities.
> Support and improve physical and mental wellbeing increasing social skills and self-esteem.
With these sessions, Rotherham United are not just offering free sporting activities to young people, but an opportunity to find routes into higher education, training and employment.
