On Wednesday 13th at the New York Stadium the Millers community Jobshop ran an event to promote employment opportunities within Saint Gobain .
The event was well attended with over 40 people from across all sectors attending . There was great interest from the recent employers at Polestar print Sheffield who have just been made redundant as the firm closed in May .
It became clear that the skills Ex Polestar employees have were of a high calibre and skills that were in demand not just within the Saint Gobain group but within other organisations .
The event was a great success with fantastic feedback . off the back of this success the demand has been so great tha we are putting another event on Wednesday the 20th between 10 am and 2pm
Quote :- Breath of fresh of air today.. the most positive meet I’ve attended since redundo hit! Regardless to if it leads to anything, it’s certainly opened my eyes to what a decent employer offer their staff these days!
Cheers to Russell Morgan & his team down at the mighty RUFC
The guest speaker was brilliant , down to earth & i personally thought wow i hope some of the ex-polestar staff can secure jobs there then that will be a foot in the door for others as word will spread. He offered 5 jobs if people could move down south & immediate start with his company. Was it 25k pay for the FL driver ? I have personally messaged 8 people who couldn’t make it to the meeting with details of contact & the company. I cant thank Russell enough for this meeting , it was truly a breathe of fresh air, with decent wages & future prospects on offer.
