NEWS | Rotherham Skate and Arts Festival

A three-day festival of skate, street art, music and food.

22nd – 24th February Half-term, 10-3.30pm at Rotherham Town Centre

Join us for the very first Rotherham Skate and Arts Festival! Three days of an action-packed programme, full of skateboarding, art installations, floor murals, art workshops, music and street food.

The festival is a part of a wider Children’s Capital of Culture launch event, celebrating the best of Rotherham’s art and heritage, inspired and created by Children and Young People in Rotherham.

In 2025 Rotherham will become the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture 2025, designed and delivered by Rotherham’s children and young people

This half-term, Rotherham Town Centre will transform into ‘Uplift’, a colourful pop-up skate park. Don’t miss the chance to meet Olympic BMX bikers and skateboarders, performing their best kickflips, ollies, and laser flips. In fact, come and learn their tricks with free skate and BMX workshops running Tuesday the 22nd through Thursday the 24th, from 10-3.30pm! All wheels and safety equipment provided!

Robot Selfie (picture attached), a wall-painting robot by UK-based production studio Kaleider, will create a spectacular 10 x 8 metre mural of Young People’s faces. It will be an exciting chance to observe the robot spray painting for the first time in colour!
