Rotherham United Community Sports Trust (RUCST) are expanding their provision of women’s and girls’ football in the local community in the run up to the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022.
At RUCST, we are keen to create a lasting legacy for girls and women within the community. Our UEFA qualified coaches are passionate about introducing young girls into the sport, and developing their skills and understanding of the game.
The UEFA Women’s Euro competition aims to inspire long-term, sustainable and positive changes in women’s and girls’ football within Rotherham.
As part of the tournament’s legacy, RUCST is beginning to deliver a range of different programmes in order to welcome women and girls into football, with a focus on under-represented groups. Football will be used to encourage more women and girls to adopt and maintain a healthier lifestyle, with leadership opportunities developed to help women and girls grow the game.
At RUCST, we run a variety of fun and friendly sessions around Rotherham to introduce girls into the fundamentals of the game.
Here is a list of our current girls and women’s football provision:
The Future Stars girls development programme is for girls of any ability level aged 5-16 and offers progression opportunities into Rotherham United Women’s first team.

We want to get them playing the best game in the world with a smile on their faces. We are all UEFA B licensed coaches and we know how important it is to get the FUNdamentals right.”
