Rotherham United Community Sports Trust (RUCST) are delighted to announce that our Under 8’s and Under 14’s Future Stars Teams have been accepted onto the Junior Premier League for the 2021/22 season.
Future Stars is RUCST’s official football development programme that is delivered by our very own UEFA B qualified coaches; Adam Pilgrim and Dave Atkinson.
With links to Rotherham United’s Academy, Future Stars offers progression opportunities for all age groups. This programme therefore gives children from the age of 5 the opportunity to learn and develop their football and social skills in a fun and safe environment.
The Junior Premier League is a player development focused league which prides itself on bridging the gap between grassroots and academy football, therefore offering a high standard of football to the players and teams within it.
This is exciting for RUCST’s Future Stars, as it is England’s only National league for youth players from U8 to U18 and is the largest league in the country with over 25,000 players.
Our Future Stars Under 8’s and Under 14’s teams will play matches every Saturday against other development centres from around the North East.
Adam Pilgrim, RUCST’s Football Development Coordinator said:
“We are absolutely delighted to have Future Stars accepted into the Junior Premier League, a move which is going to really help the young people in our programme develop by having the opportunity to compete week in, week out against some of the best players from various parts of the north of England.
This level of competition for our young people is only going to help them thrive, and provide them with the best possible environment to help them achieve their goals within football”.
